Artist Bio:

Di Zillo grew up in Illinois, but now resides in Valdosta, Georgia where he is pursuing his Bachelor of the Arts degree, focused on Graphic Design. As an art student Di Zillo has explored many areas such as watercolor and ink to illustrate portraits, but remains intrigued by working digitally as it creates a modernity to his artwork. While he pursues a career in Graphic Design, creating products and advertisements for athletic companies, Di Zillo will continue on with painting as well.

Artist Statement:

Growing up in a big city my eyes were open to a vast amount of different people and styles. From a sports driven life to watching Tim Burton movies you could say my life was almost on two opposite ends of the spectrum. I am a painter and graphic designer. The figure is what I focus on in my paintings. For as long as I can remember watercolor and ink has been second nature to me. The way the brush strokes of the paint flow and the contrast of the harsh black ink lines make for such an interesting composition. From watching and playing sports, to being intrigued by the macabre illustrative works of Tim Burton, I have always balanced a sense of duality in my life. From painting to graphic design, watercolor and ink will always play a significant role in my processes.
