Artist Statement:

As an African American male much of my art is defined around the concept of the African Diaspora. I construct art based off of things that I see and hear in my community. Ideas like culture and exposing false stereotypes influence a vast majority of my work. I chose to work with charcoals, paints, photography, and mixed media to inspire a true appreciation for the value black, and what it means: the mystery of the unknown. Fashion has also shaped a tremendous amount of my work. Astatically I am drawn to colorful trends, patterns, and textiles that appear in plain sight. Fashion allows me to express my personal day-to-day emotion through the fabrication of clothing.
